Vacancies:

Faith Chinese North American Baptist Church (FCNABC) calls for a full-time staff member for the English Ministry.  The person will be placed in one of the following roles based on the applicant’s credentials:

  1. Minister of English Congregation
  2. Ministerial Internship (English)

Job Description:

  1. Develop and strengthen the English ministry for the Church in the Metro Vancouver Area under the guidance and supervision of the senior pastor.
  2. Deliver sermons and teachings during Sunday worship, Sunday school and outreach events as directed by the pastoral team.
  3. Train, support and recruit adult staff volunteers.
  4. Provide discipleship and leadership training to the youth leaders and equip the steward team to assist in all aspects of the English ministry.
  5. Encourage, educate, and build relationships with parents of teenagers.
  6. Offer counselling and visitation to youth.

Applicant Qualifications:

  1. Embrace the “The Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy” and recognize that Biblical Inerrancy is the evidence of God’s mighty works through His Holy Spirit in His churches at the present time.
  2. Affirm that “The Baptist Confession of Faith (1689)” express biblical truth in the most clear and systematic way.
  3. Acknowledge FCNABC’s “Confession of Faith” (see linkage) as the applicant’s own present vision and practise.
  4. Wholeheartedly commit to the ministry philosophy and programs of the church.
  5. Demonstrate the capacity for leadership by providing clear vision and direction to the English congregation.
  6. Have strong leadership skills yet with a submissive and servant heart towards God and people.
  7. Exhibit fluency in English while being comfortable in a Chinese-speaking environment.
  8. Display a passion for East Asian students and familiar with East Asian cultures.
  9. Hold a degree from a Bible College or Seminary school, or possess equivalent training.

OUR MISSION

It is our mission to glorify God through building up the English ministry in preaching and teaching the Word of God during Sunday Worship and in gospel-centered services and events. It is also our mission to make disciples, and to train, equip and empower the young leaders in the Steward team.
FCNABC is looking for a Minister whose main duty is to shepherd the English congregation so that they can be built up according to the church’s mission.
